POSITION: Vice President, Quantitative Analyst/Assistant Portfolio ManagerDEPARTMENT: Systematic Investment Group

SUMMARY: Perform equity quantitative research duties, generalist analyst duties, and assistant portfolio management duties for large global financial services company. Specifically, help improve the management processes for the Systematic Investment Group. Develop new investment management processes based on quantitative models and processes. Use computer programming and/or statistics packages to analyze large sets of fundamental, pricing and estimate data to improve stock election models, screening strategies, and stock specific equity valuation models. Use present value equity and valuation methodologies such as Discount Cash-flow Model (DCF) and Dividend Discount Model (DDM) and other equity valuation techniques to build intrinsic valuation framework for stocks, and groups of stocks. Build and improve new tools and frameworks (new visualization tools, enhance Vertical Performance Attribution). Conduct company research to recommend stocks and to assist in stock selection by making buy and sell recommendations (cover financial sector stocks as a primary focus, in addition to other sectors such as Technology, Materials and Utilities stocks). Use company specific accounting data to conduct in-depth research on buy ideas and current holdings. Use industry/sector data and macro-economic data to analyze company’s prospects. Interact with internal and external sector specialist analysts. Assist in portfolio rebalancing and cash management. Conduct cash-flow driven trades, monitor and document trade rationale. Update and monitor portfolio risk and client-specific (guideline or asset allocation) requirements. Analyze performance through performance attribution process. Assist on producing monthly and quarterly write-ups on performance, market environment and outlook. Interact with Marketing/Client Service to promote portfolios/products in general. May be assigned to various projects utilizing skills.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a PhD or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering, or related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related Equity Investment Research (in both Quantitative Research area and Fundamental/Company Research area) position, or Equity Portfolio Management position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience must include:
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
- Quantitative research using computer programming and/or statistics packages
- Company/fundamental research dealing with company’s accounting and fundamental data, industry data, and market level data
- Management of equity portfolios (portfolio construction, risk analysis and trading)
- Equity data providers and databases (Compustat, Reuters, IBES, Worldscope, etc.)
- Equity Valuation Modeling (DDM, DCF, Residual Income, etc.); and
- Buy-side stock research/investment experience
