CLIENT RELATIONS & MARKETING GROUP
POSITION: Product SpecialistDEPARTMENT: Client Relations & Marketing Group
SUMMARY: The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting US based sales of RCM’s global and international equity capabilities (International) out of London and RCM’s Asia Pacific based capabilities out of Hong Kong and Tokyo. Working as part of the SF sales team, the Product Specialist is SF’s link to both the Asia Pacific and London portfolio management teams and is responsible for leading the new business acquisition for International and Asia Pacific products and for supporting the client services teams in SF once clients have been acquired.
Based in SF and reporting locally to the head of sales the Product Specialist is expected to also work out of the New York office for several days each month when covering clients on the East Coast and to build effective support for the Allianz Global Investors retail sales channel based in New York.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working with the RCM SF sales team and in consultation with the AGI US retail channel, responsible for setting the annual budget for new business, client retention and expenses in relation to supporting US based clients investing in either the International or Asia Pacific equity capabilities of RCM.
- Establishing a detailed strategy to raise the profile of RCM’s international and AP capabilities in the US amongst:
- Retail channels
- RCM SF sales and client service teams
- Institutional investors
- Consultant management teams
- Consultants directly
- Build constructive and productive relationships with all of the stakeholders.
- Be the knowledge base for the international and AP capabilities in the US.
- Be proactive in disseminating information.
- Gather market intelligence and communicate findings across the organization to position RCM as a leading provider of international and AP fund management in the US.
- Attend investment team meetings (to include offsite) as considered appropriate to support client service and sales activities.
- Report progress to the head of sales SF, Asia Pacific and London based business development management producing a regular monthly report, call memos, business development relative to budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates should be educated to tertiary level and have at least 5 years’ relevant industry experience with a very strong sales and client service orientation.
- A proven track record of establishing relationships with key individuals at large organizations. Working knowledge of the US market (clients, retail channels, consultants, etc).
- Maturity and credibility are key characteristics required.
- The candidate must be a self starter, sensitive to team dynamics and not shy of pushing ahead in order to achieve results.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain investment issues clearly and credibly are required.

SYSTEMATIC INVESTMENT GROUP
POSITION: Portfolio Manager and Analyst for the US Systematic Equities TeamDEPARTMENT: Systematic Investment Group
SUMMARY: RCM, a company of Allianz Global Investors, is seeking a Portfolio Manager and Analyst to expand its US Systematic Equities Team in San Francisco. The Systematic Equities Team specializes in managing and developing products that use an integrated investment process which includes both quantitative and fundamental research. The main investment strategy uses screening for initial idea generation, but the rest is accomplished by rigorous fundamental research, equity valuation work, and active stock selection decision making by the PM’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, and work with quantitative Analysts in improving ranking models and equity valuation models
- Work with fundamental Analysts (internal and external)
- Conduct research as a generalist Analyst
- Make stock selection recommendations
- Manage client portfolios
- Assist in marketing and sales efforts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ideal candidate will have quantitative research experience and portfolio management experience using fundamental research
- Minimum 10 years equity investment experience of which at least 5 years of experience in equity quantitative research
- Experience in using both quantitative research and fundamental research based stock picking a plus
- Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree a plus
- CFA charter-holder or CFA candidate will be a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to describe complex methods/processes in a simple and brief manner
- Detail oriented
- Commitment to provide excellent quality work in a team environment
- Flexible and efficient time management skills to conduct/monitor various projects/processes
- Sense of urgency and service-orientation toward all related parties
- Ability to add value by using creativity and independent thinking
